School Improvement Plan
Mission Statement:
To empower all students to maximize their success in our global community.
Target Goals:
- Students will improve their critical reading skills by developing their abilities to analyze, synthesize and evaluate information in all curricular areas.
With these skills, students will identify pertinent information in text and graphics, accurately summarize informational and literary text, and make valid inferences and predictions.
- Students will improve their communication skills across the curriculum.
This means developing an ability to integrate, organize and present information in speaking, writing or multimedia. This includes writing strategies and editing skills.
Interventions:
- Instructional Intervention –Goal 1
Teachers will use a variety of instructional strategies that will assist students in becoming more proficient at analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of reading material.
- Instructional Intervention- Goal 2
Teachers will use a variety of instructional strategies that will assist students in becoming more proficient at integrating, organizing, and presenting information in spoken, written, or multimedia formats.
- Communication Intervention
Aviano MHS will develop and implement a variety of activities that will inform parents and community of SIP efforts and progress.
- SHC Partnership Intervention
Aviano MHS will develop and implement a variety of activities that will involve parents into the students’ learning.
- Technology Intervention
Aviano MHS will continue to develop means of furthering the use of technology into instruction to prepare students for the future.
